Terms of Service
The short version: you control your node and content. Use it lawfully, protect access, and keep tested backups.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using ModernKeep, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.
2. Accounts and node operators
You must be at least 18 to create an account. Keep credentials confidential. The node owner controls local accounts, roles, permissions, connected devices, and access.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of content you create or store. You must have the rights and lawful authority to store or share content belonging to other people.
4. Sharing
You choose audiences and permissions. Verify them before sharing. Public material may be copied or redistributed, and revocation cannot erase copies already received.
5. Cameras, sensors, and emergencies
You are responsible for consent, notice, placement, recording laws, retention, and access. Alerts, automations, and location tools can fail or be delayed and must not be your only emergency plan.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use ModernKeep to violate law, harm people, access systems without authorization, distribute malware, infringe rights, or defeat security controls.
7. Outside services
Optional email, mapping, AI, storage, media, device, and internet services have their own terms and privacy practices.
8. Maintenance and backups
Node operators are responsible for compatible hardware, power, networking, updates, storage capacity, physical security, and tested backups.
9. No professional advice
ModernKeep features organize information. They do not provide professional medical, legal, tax, financial, or other professional advice.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ModernKeep is provided as is and as available. You are responsible for your configuration, permissions, content, and sharing choices. Rights that cannot legally be excluded remain in effect.
11. Changes
Features may change, pause, or be discontinued. These terms may be updated for features, security, or law; material changes should be communicated clearly.
